Terms and Conditions for the International Quizzing Championships (IQC) by the International Quizzing Association (IQA):

Words like ‘holder’, ‘bearer’, and ‘purchaser’ will refer to you – the person who will buy the tickets to the IQC. On the other hand, ‘our’, ‘us’, ‘we’, ‘issuer’, ‘provider’ ‘promoter’ and similar terms will indicate the organisers of the IQC – the IQA.

1. 1. By purchasing, allocating, or possessing tickets to the IQC, you agree to the terms and conditions of use set forth by the IQA. If you do not agree with any of the clauses mentioned below or the risk allocations, please do not purchase tickets or attempt to enter the IQC event premises.
   2. The IQA reserves the right to make changes, revisions, amendments, or add/remove sections from these terms and conditions without prior notice. Any changes will be reflected on this page and will be applicable from the date of purchase of IQC tickets.
   3. The price of tickets is as published, and is non-negotiable.
   4. Fairplay: Cheating is strictly prohibited at the IQC. Any proven record of cheating will result in immediate disqualification of the participant(s) involved, and they may also be banned from future IQC events.
   5. Copying and sharing of questions: It is strictly prohibited to copy, reproduce, share, or distribute any questions used in the IQC, in any form or medium. Such actions may result in immediate disqualification of the participant(s) involved, and they may also be banned from future IQC events.
   6. Social Media: Attendees are encouraged to share their experience of the event on social media. However, attendees must not infringe on the intellectual property rights of the IQC or any other third-party, and must not share any confidential or sensitive information about the event or its attendees.
   7. The ticket you purchase represents a revocable license for you to access the quiz event on 3-5 November 2023 when IQC is scheduled to be hosted. The license includes the revocable right to attend the IQC. This license can be revoked at any time by the IQA at its sole discretion, without any prior notifications or compensation options. If the license is revoked, you will not be granted entry to the venue.
   8. Please note that this website is the sole authorized source for purchasing IQC tickets. If you obtain your ticket(s) from any other unauthorized source, you take on the risks of those tickets turning out to be counterfeit or reported to be stolen. The IQA has the right to dishonor such stolen/counterfeit tickets and declare them void.

 

1. IQA has the right to investigate if there has been any violation of the IQC ticketing terms and conditions. In case of any conflicts, the decision of IQA will be deemed final (i.e., the issuer will remain the final arbiter in cases of disputes)
2. Photography and Video: The IQC reserves the right to photograph, videotape, or record the event and its attendees for marketing and promotional purposes. By attending the event, you grant permission to the IQC to use your likeness, image, or voice in any and all media, including but not limited to print, video, and social media.
3. The use of equipment for recording or transmitting (by digital or other means) any audio, visual or audio-visual material within the Venue is strictly forbidden. You shall not bring any such equipment to the Venue or to the Event. Any recording or transmitting equipment (including professional cameras), unauthorised recordings, tapes, films or similar items may be confiscated and/or destroyed by IQA. Any recording made of an Event or part thereof in breach of the Conditions shall belong to the Promoter and You agree to assign any and all rights in any such recordings to the Promoter. Notwithstanding anything else in the Conditions, IQA shall not be liable for any loss, theft or damage to confiscated items.
4. If IQC is cancelled in its entirety due to any unforeseen circumstances, IQA has the sole and absolute right to:
   1. reschedule the event, or
   2. issue a partial/full refund, or
   3. not issue any refunds.
5. Please note that the decision of the issuer in such cases will be deemed final and binding.
6. If IQC is cancelled due to any factors, force majeure/ causes not in the control of the issuer, the latter will offer a partial or full refund, or postpone the event, or provide a comparable ‘make good’ option. These factors will be inclusive of, but not limited to, natural disasters, federal/state announcements, strikes, delays in production, and the like. Once again, the decision of IQA will be considered final.
7. “Force Majeure” means any cause beyond IQA’s control including, without limitation, act of God, war, insurrection, riot, civil disturbances, acts of terrorism, fire, explosion, flood, national mourning, theft of essential equipment, malicious damage, strike, lock out, weather, third party injunction, national defence requirements, acts or regulations of national or local governments. Subject to the provisions of Condition 6, IQA will not be liable to You for failure to perform any obligation under the Conditions to the extent that the failure is caused by Force Majeure.
8. If IQC has to be rescheduled to other dates, you will not be eligible for any refunds. In case the event is fully canceled, the refund, if issued, will include ONLY the face value/printed value of the ticket(s). The bearer cannot, under any circumstances, claim refunds on shipping fees, processing fees, handling fees, and such other charges.
9. Losses, if any, occurring due to foreign exchange fluctuations at the time of refunds, have to be borne by the purchaser. IQA cannot be, in any way, held liable for that.
10. All ticket sales are deemed as FINAL TRANSACTIONS. There will be no ticket returns/exchanges/cancellations.
11. At the IQC you be issued a wristband that reflects the ticket you have purchased. You must keep this on you at all times to ensure entry to quizzes and/or your meals. If you do not have your wristband, you may be denied entry to quizzes and access to meals. If you lose or damage your wristband, please inform a member of the IQA team who can replace it for you.
12. Alcohol Consumption – if alcoholic beverages are made available at an International Quiz Association (IQA) event, it is the responsibility of the event participants and attendees to comply with the applicable laws and regulations governing the sale, distribution, and consumption of alcohol in the hosting country. The IQA does not assume any responsibility or liability for enforcing or monitoring compliance with these laws and regulations. By attending an IQA event, all participants and attendees acknowledge their individual responsibility to adhere to the legal requirements surrounding alcohol consumption and accept that the IQA cannot be held accountable for any violations, consequences, or damages arising from non-compliance with the applicable alcohol-related laws and regulations.
13. By purchasing IQC tickets and presenting the same at the venue, you give your consent to IQA to collect certain information about yourself (name, picture, date of birth, email, address, etc.) for verification and storage.
14. You hereby agree to forego all types of surcharge claims – full or in part – and all claims & entitlements related to it.
15. IQA does not take any responsibility to personal/financial damages caused to you at the venue, or for any items lost/stolen/misplaced at the venue. Financial reimbursement claims on these counts will not be entertained.
16. IQC and IQA follow a common ‘zero-tolerance policy’ towards unauthorised drug usage or carrying at the venue, AND towards any type of behaviour/actions that can be interpreted as lewd or obscene. If you are found in possession of prohibited items at IQC and/or if you indulge in any objectionable action, your participation in the event will be terminated immediately. Your event ticket(s) will become void from that point on.
17. If you have any access requirements or concerns about any special effects (for example lighting, sound, audiovisual or pyrotechnic effects) which may be featured at the IQC, please discuss any such issues with IQA before purchasing the tickets by contacting us using the contact form.
18. Please note that you purchase IQC tickets of your own free will. As such, you do not have the right to initiate a chargeback claim or dispute on the provider of the credit card/debit card that had been used for the transaction. Further refund/return/cancellation requests will not be entertained either.
19. In all cases of disputes between the ticket-bearer and the ticket-issuer, the decision of the latter will be deemed final. In case a dispute cannot be resolved, the help of an independent third-party arbiter will be sought.
