What can I expect?

The International Quizzing Championships (IQC) is a three-day event held in a new and exciting location each year, attracting many of the world’s greatest quiz fans and players.

The event offers a range of quizzing sessions including quizzes for individuals, pairs and teams. If you don’t have a quiz partner or team, we will find you one at the event. As well as all the quizzing (and socialising!), you will also have the opportunity to explore the host city and its culture. It’s a chance to not only improve your quizzing skills but also experience a new destination and immerse yourself in the world of quizzing on a welcoming, fun, friendly international stage.

So, whether you’re a seasoned quizzer or just starting out, the IQC is an event not to be missed.

What's in a name?​

The International Quizzing Championships (IQC) has come a long way since its inception as the European Quizzing Championships in 2004. It was previously open only to quizzers from Europe but has now expanded to welcome quizzers from all over the world. As the event has evolved, so too has its name.

It was briefly known as the Ultimate Quizzing Championships in 2022, before being rebranded as the International Quizzing Championships, a name that more accurately reflects the competition’s global reach and prestige.

This name change highlights the IQC’s unrivalled gravitas and its position as the must-attend event for quizzers from all corners of the world.
